We have been learning to make our sentences more interesting by using a connective eg 'when'

Weather
I know it is Winter when I can see black, grey clouds overhead.

I know it is raining when I can hear watery raindrops on my umbrella.

I know it is cold when I can see tiny little drops of hail.

I like Winter when I go up the mountain and build a white snowman.

I know it is raining when I can see raindrops on my pool.

I know it is raining when I can see the sparkling raindrops off a spiderweb.

I know it is raining when I can see grey clouds in the sky.

  1. Thanks for sharing your poems Denym and Leonor. You helped me to think about what it is like in Winter. I know it is cold when I want to go and stand by the glowing fire. I know I have heard a good description using when, when I want to write a comment to the writers.

  2. It was really great to read your poems Leonor and Denym. Your writing really gave me a picture in my head about winter. I actually started to feel quite cold when I was reading them.

  4. Gosh! Don't you wish the rain and cold would go away Leonor and Denym? I'm looking forward to reading more of all Room 6 fabulous learning.
